Hello, everyone! Today I´m bringing a special post because is my first blog post as part of the Blog Team for Picket Fence Studios. Para este post creé una tarjeta con una forma diferente: es una tarjeta con forma de banner. Partí de una tarjeta tamaño A2 pero corté la parte de abajo para darle esa forma. Esta es una tarjeta que se abre hacia arriba. Para la base usé el cardstock Ultra Pink de Hero Arts.
For my first post of the year I´m bringing a card with a different shape: it´s an A2 card but I cut it to be like a banner. For the card base I used the Hero Arts Hero Hues Ultra Pink Cardstock. This is a top folding card.
La estrella de esta tarjeta es el fondo hecho con el nuevo set de stencils en capas llamado Sprinkles 6×8 Layering Stencil set. . Este set viene con 5 stencils para que puedas crear un fondo de sprinkles en diferentes tonos. Mi secreto aquí fue dar vuelta el primer stencil que usé y crear una sexta capa en la que utilicé Paper Glitz Buttercream para darle un toque de brillo dorado a esta tarjeta de celebración.
The star here is the background made with the fantastic new Sprinkles 6×8 Layering Stencil set. A fun stencil set which comes with 5 stencils to make the layers. But, I have a secret: if you flip one of the stencils and use the other side, I mean, the side that in first place touches the paper, you have extra layers to use.That´s what I did for the sixth layer: I flipped the first stencil and used the new Paper Glitz Buttercream to add some sparkle and shine to this celebration card!
Para aplicar la tinta en esos pequeños troquelados del stencil usé los nuevos Paper Pouncers que vienen en un tamaño menor que los regulares. Sirvieron perfectamente para ello.
To apply the ink through the stencil I used the new Pint Sized Paper Pouncers and it worked perfectly!
Para una tarjeta de cumpleaños, una torta es ideal para poner como elemento principal, pero lo que tiene de bueno es que, si todos los eventos de la vida tendrían que celebrarse con una torta, entonces esta tarjeta se puede utilizar para muchas cosas. La torta es parte del nuevo set de sellos Sugar and Calorie free así como el sentimiento. Para colorear usé Karin Markers para darle ese toque acuarelado. El sentimiento está hecho con embossing blanco.
I´m using one of the cakes in the new Sugar and Calorie Free stamp set. I colored it with Karin Markers to make the watercolor effect. The sentiment is from the same stamp set stamped with embossing ink and white embossing powder on top.
Para terminar la tarjeta agregué un hilo dorado en el doblez y le hice una moña. Creo que le da el toque de banner y además, el toque festivo.
To finish the card, I used a golden thread in the fold and made a bow.
